Job Description

The Deputy Manager supports the Registered Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the service. You will take responsibility for supervision, staff training, rota management, and quality control, ensuring care is safe, responsive, and consistent with best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management and supervision of the care team.
• Support staff induction, training, and performance reviews.
• Monitor and evaluate care delivery against regulatory and internal standards.
• Support in preparing for CQC inspections and audits.
• Manage shifts and ensure appropriate staff coverage.
• Act as manager in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Requirements

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care (minimum).
• Supervisory or team leader experience in a care environment.
• Good knowledge of care planning, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Desire to progress into management roles (Level 5 qualification desirable).
